Ten nights from the Pacific to the geysers: three nights on the coast at Pan de Azúcar, then seven in the high desert, rising from sea level to 4,320 metres.
The desert runs all the way to the sea. You start on the coast, where the fog feeds cactus gardens and Humboldt penguins nest on the island offshore, then fly north to Calama and follow the Salt & Fire plan in the high country. The best way to see how the Atacama works, from the bottom up.
